North Sea Dip

This is a very familiar sight to one who grew up in the North East of England, and who spent a lot of time on the beaches there in every season.  Like its counterpart on the other side of the water, this spot close to Castricum aan Zee looks magnificent in the mist and rain.  It feels far more natural to me to be walking in this than the hot heat of earlier in the summer.  The couple of days we spent up at the beachhouse there coincided with the weather-man stating that there would be 36 hours of ceaseless rain, and in between swims and quick walks in the dunes, we sat sandy-footed indoors with the windows battened down.

(Thanks Reuben and Eva...)
